26.12.2019  Communications Department of the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company

The entire NPP – on your phone

The Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company (a part of Electric power division of the Rosatom State Corporation) has officially launched its unique digital service – a so-called ‘Technical documentation e-shop’. Prior to that, the e-shop was running as a pilot project.

The new product will enable any nuclear power operator in the world find the necessary regulatory and technical documentation on running a Russian-designed nuclear power plant in a single database and order these documents online – quick and easy, in any suitable format using one’s PC, laptop or smartphone.

When speaking about how important this product is, Nikita Konstantinov, the deputy CEO and the Business Development Director at the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company, noted: ‘This project stemmed from the Company’s existing Computer-Aided Technical Documentation System, which comprises all regulatory and technical documentation required at different stages of a nuclear power plant life cycle. It covers an enormous amount of research and development efforts, which is the Company’s intellectual property. Over 1,100 documents have already been uploaded into the E-shop, and those are primarily the documents for an exported product – the innovative 3+ generation VVER type power block that costs over 420 million rubles’.

According to Mr. Konstantinov, in addition to selling the documents, Rosenergoatom intends to customize them to fit the requirements of the customers – the countries building VVER-type power blocks. The idea is to provide a full package of regulatory, scientific and project documentation required to both obtain a license and to operate the power blocks in a safe manner in the future.

Ekaterina Solntseva, the digital transformation director at the Rosatom State Corporation, has announced the official launch of the service, congratulated her colleagues on this important milestone, and noted: ‘The Technical documentation e-shop was inspired by a huge demand for such a solution in the industry – previously, there were no processes and mechanisms for exchanging such documents in a quick and reliable way. It is important to mention that, despite the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company being a monopolist in NPP operation, the enterprise is very partner-centric and does its best to offer suitable digital solutions to its customers. After all, the main goal we pursue when launching digital products and services for our partners and all companies in the industry is to make work for our colleagues more comfortable and effective’.

It is expected that customers all over the world will be using the e-shop to both improve the safety operation at the NPP at all stages of its life cycle and to cut the costs and the time lines for the NPP construction, as they won’t need to produce their own regulatory documents. Additionally, this service will streamline the process of obtaining licenses and other permits from the governmental authorities.

The project was completed by the International business and development department at the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company jointly with the IT projects and integration management department, the Innovative development block of Rosenergoatom and the Digital transformation block of the Rosatom State Corporation.
