Following the results of Q1 2016, the Rosenergoatom Concern has made it to the top 3 of “The generating companies – market efficiency” rating compiled by the "Nonprofit Market Council for Organizing Efficient System of Trading at Wholesale and Retail Electricity and Capacity Market" organization.

The data on 72 generating companies and manufacturers were used when defining the industry’s leader. The Boguchan hydropower station got the first place, with Irkutskenergo being the runner-up.

The Nonprofit Market Council calculates the ratings for the Russian companies and other players in the wholesale and retail electricity market when analyzing their operational efficiency.

The generating companies’ rating is traditionally drafted on a quarterly basis and at the end of each year in order to evaluate and to benchmark the generating companies’ efficiency on the following criteria: supporting the generating equipment’s production availability, the unit cost, and the profit per unit.

The leaders are defined based on the abovementioned criteria with the following scores:

• supporting the generating equipment’s production availability – 35%;

• capacity utilization factor – 15%;

• unit cost per 1 megawatt-hour of electric power – 25%;

• profit per 1 megawatt-hour of electric power – 25%.
  

The Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC comprises all 10 nuclear power plants in Russia bearing the Concern affiliate status, as well as the enterprises catering for the generating company’s operations. There are 35 power blocks being used at the 10 nuclear power plants: 18 of them having VVER-type reactor units (12 VVER-1000 power blocks and 6 VVER-440 blocks of different modifications); 15 of them having channel-type reactors (11 power blocks with RBMK-1000 reactors and 4 blocks with EGP-6 reactors); 2 power blocks with BN-600 and BN-800 sodium-cooled fast reactors.
