The Kalinin NPP: power unit №3 works at nominal capacity
The power unit №3 of the Kalinin NPP started to work on nominal capacity after completion of repairs on August 12, 2015.

The Kalininskaya NPP power unit №3 unplugged
The Kalininskaya NPP power unit №3 was unplugged by turbine protection technology on August 8, 2015 at 11 h. 44 min. Reactor installation of the power unit №3 is at 10% capacity. After elimination of causes the power unit will be plugged in. There are no violations of limits and conditions of safe operation.

The Kalininskaya NPP fulfilled target figure for electricity generation in July on 108%
The Kalininskaya NPP power units generated 3.115 billion KWh (108%) in July. Power system was released 2.957 billion KWh (108.8%). Capacity factor (load factor) was 104.7% (96.91% - beyond the plan).

Complex for working out skills of working at high altitudes was designed meeting requirements of new "Regulation on labor protection when working at height" and equipped with everything necessary for practical development of safe methods of work.

The management of Kalinin NPP is well aware that high quality is essential for effective production and is strongly committed to further improve its quality management system, with due regard for nuclear and radiation safety.

The key goals of the plant are:

  • to ensure nuclear and radiation safety; 
  • to effectively operate, maintain, repair and modernize the equipment; 
  • to effectively and timely organize the safe and effective operation of the 3 rd unit and its auxiliary facilities; 
  • effectively protect the environment; 
  • to openly and directly contact with public and international organizations. 


In order to meet the above goals, it is necessary to carry out the following tasks:

  • to implement and improve the efficiency program; 
  • to ensure effective management and distribution of responsibility; 
  • to comply with efficiency standards; 
  • to effectively plan quality management actions; 
  • to ensure effective resource management; 
  • to enhance personnel qualification and to develop safety culture; 
  • to ensure effective document management; 
  • to organize planned inspections and to ensure constant quality control in line with existing procedures; 
  • to regularly analyze and to constantly enhance the efficiency; 
  • to control the activities of the plant and the suppliers that have an influence on its efficiency. 


This policy is expected to enhance the plant’s safety and efficiency and to raise people’s confidence in nuclear power engineering.
