The Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company, a part of the Electric power division of the Rosatom State Corporation, is the largest generation company in Russia and the second one in the world in terms of the generating capacity, only surpassed by the French company EDF.

ALL IN ALL, THE 11 OPERATING NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS IN ROSENERGOATOM RUN 36 POWER UNITS ALONG WITH THE AKADEMIK LOMONOSOV POWER BARGE. THE TOTAL DESIGNATED CAPACITY OF ALL POWER UNITS IS AROUND 28.5 GW:

  • 22 power units with reactors of VVER type (4 VVER-1200 power units, 13 VVER-1000 power units and 5 VVER-440 power units of different modifications);
  • 10 power units with channel reactors (7 units with RMBK-1000 reactors and 3 units with EGP-6 reactors);
  • 2 power units with fast neutron reactor with sodium cooling (BN-600 and BN-800).
  • 2 power barge reactors KLT-40S with the electric capacity of 35 MW each.

NPPs account for around 20% of all electric power output.
