A meeting of the working group on reviewing and analyzing innovative proposals in the field of physical protection of nuclear power plants took place July 9, 2015 in the Public Information Centre of the Kalininskaya NPP (g.Udomlya). Its work was leaded by the Deputy director of the Department for Special Security in JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom" Sergey Lapardin.

The discussion was attended by representatives of the "Rosenergoatom" central office, Russian nuclear power stations, other organizations involved in design and manufacture of special hardware and software.

Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the Chief expert of the Department for Special Security in the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom" Vadim Petrov, in particular, noted that the working group is paid great attention by the management group: group recommendations and decisions are carefully analyzed and then they form basis of a single technical policy of the "Rosenergoatom" in the field of special security.

According to the Acting Deputy Director of the Kalininskaya NPP for physical protection and regime Dmitri Pavlov, a nuclear power plant hosted such meeting for the first time. The participants of the working group were able to get introduced with some innovative technical means of physical protection and other equipment, used at the Kalininskaya NPP, while they were visiting an industrial site.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
