A delegation from the Akkuyu NPP visited the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant to study the experience of selling electricity

The delegation of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC (Akkuyu NPP, Turkey) visited the Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant (Udomlya, the Tver Region) as part of a seminar organized by Rosenergoatom together with the World Association of Nuclear Power Plant Operators (WANO) to study advanced experience in selling electricity.

At the meeting, representatives of nuclear power plants discussed issues of operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants, forecasting and planning of electricity generation volumes. The key topic was a discussion of the processes of selling electricity: designing tariffs, government regulation, structure of the sales market, techniques and tools for increasing the efficiency of sales on the wholesale market.

“We are glad to share with our foreign colleagues our experience and best practices in providing sales of electricity and capacity in the markets. This also applies to the organization of the sales service at the power plant itself, and the interaction between the technological management and commercial dispatching services,” said Sergei Molotov, deputy chief engineer for production, technical support and quality at the Kalinin NPP. “The meeting will allow for further interaction between nuclear power plants to exchange experience and improve existing competencies.”

A technical tour of industrial production sites was organized for the guests. Representatives of the Akkuyu NPP delegation also visited the museum exhibition at the Public Information Center of the Kalinin NPP, where they learned about the history of the construction of the nuclear plant in Udomlya.

“We received a lot of useful information. Now we have a lot of work ahead of us - to process all this, analyze it and see what we will use in our work. The information obtained allows us to understand how the divisions of the nuclear power plant work and interact,” said the acting director. Commercial Director of AKKUYU NUCLEAR Talyat Zeinulla oglu Aliyev. He also noted the power of the Kalinin nuclear power plant and admitted that he was impressed by the installed capacity utilization rate.
