The Rostov nuclear power plant: visit of the Chinese delegation

The Rostov nuclear power plant with fact-finding visit was visited on October 9-10 by the delegation of China consisting of a management of Tszyansusky corporation on nuclear power engineering (Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation).

The head of the delegation, the deputy director general on operation of the JNPC company of Gu Inbin also is the member of council of VAO nuclear power plant.

Studying of the Russian experiment on radiation protection of the personnel and environment, acquaintance with actions and technical means on the radiation protection, implemented on a platform of the Rostov nuclear station became a main objective of the visit of the Rostov nuclear power plant.

The representatives of the Chinese delegation visited operating blocks of the nuclear power plant, communicated to specialists of the entity who directly are engaged in radiation protection. Within visit there took place a meeting with an entity management. The deputy chief engineer for repair Ivan Malakhov told to guests about entity activities, priorities of safety and equipment of the Rostov nuclear power plant by the additional equipment within implementation of the special events developed taking into account the analysis of events on the nuclear power plant «Fukushima».

Mr. Gu Inbin, expressing gratitude for possibility of implementation of visit, noted: «The nuclear power is a single family. All of us have a common goal – safe and reliable operation of nuclear blocks. And for this purpose it is necessary to raise constantly the level of knowledge and to make use of the best experience of colleagues».

 The Rostovskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The nuclear station is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir in 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. At nuclear station two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with an installed capacity of 1000 MWt are operated. The power unit No. 1 is put into commercial operation in 2001, the power unit No. 2 – in December, 2010.
