Solemn opening of the second "nuclear class" in the city took place at physics and technology school of the Volgodonsk technical institute of the MEPhI research university (VITI NIYaU MEPhI) on October 15 within "Rosatom" State corporation  implementation of the project

The office for profound studying of physics is equipped with the most modern equipment, including an interactive board with the console of management and laptops. Important feature of the nuclear class is complete picking by the laboratory physical equipment and the computer equipment which allow to carry out laboratory works on all rate of physics and systemically to develop project activities of pupils.

Opening a festive event, the director of the Rostov nuclear power plant Andrey Salnikov noted that the "Rosatom" State corporation and "Rosenergoatom" Concern are interested in more youth going to technical colleges and thus entrants could have quality basic education. The nuclear class is one of tools for achievement of these purposes.

"To prepare for work at the entities of "Rosatom" it is necessary to begin not on the 5th rate of institute, but from a school bench. Now such opportunity for listeners of the VITI NIYaU MEPhI physics and technology school, thanks to the Nuclear Class project, fully appeared, - the head of VITI NIYaU MEPhI Valentina Rudenko emphasized in her performance.

A year ago, the project started at school No. 80 in Rostov-on-Don, this year in Volgodonsk have been already opened the doors of nuclear class at school No. 23. The next year in New Egorlyk of the Salsk area at school of Evgeny Ignatenko is planned to open a similar class in the village.

In total in 2013 in Russia within the project of "Rosatom" opening of four nuclear classes is planned. On one class of physics profound studying will be opened as in the cities of Zarechny and Pine pine forest in Sverdlovsk and Leningrad areas.   

The Rostovskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The nuclear station is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir in 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. At nuclear station two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with an installed capacity of 1000 MWt are operated. The power unit No. 1 is put into commercial operation in 2001, the power unit No. 2 – in December, 2010.
