At the power unit ? 3 construction site of the Rostov NPP start-up of the generator rotor into the stator bore surgery successfully underwent. For the first time specialists of the JSC "Atomenergoremont" made this operation, using mounting trolley with laser control system, specially developed for this, at the Rostov NPP.

"We have developed and manufactured special trolley with electric and laser control system of the rotor position, which allows to proceed the rotor start-up into in the stator, controlling the whole process of installation to the millimeter. Rotor weights 160 tons and its length is over 11 meters. And if such work previously done by the crane and with additional human resources, the operation is now more safe and can be done in optimal time and without labor costs, "- said the director of the branch of the Volga-Don "Atomenergoremont" Sergei Besedin.

This year's unique data processing operations on turbine unit using carts with laser control system has already been successfully carried out at the Novovoronezh and Balakovo NPPs.

The start-up of the power unit ? 3 of the Rostov NPP is scheduled for 2014.

The Rostovskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The nuclear station is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir in 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. At nuclear station two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with an installed capacity of 1000 MWt are operated.
