The Rostov NPP specialists have started painting the main building of the 4th power block under construction
The team has started covering the 4th power block’s main building with a special paintwork designed to protect it from external weather impact and to prevent corrosion.
Decoration works are in progress inside the power block, too, with the walls and the ceilings being painted fairly and the tiled and poured floors being installed.
Besides, the 4th power block is going through pre-commissioning activities over the installed equipment, including the refueling machine.
The cooling pond is undergoing hydro tests. The containment pre-tensioning system is being wired, and the steam generators’ maintenance sites and the turbine are being installed.
The Rostov NPP is an affiliate company for Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is based at the Tsymlianskoe reservoir shore 13.5 km away from Volgodonsk. The NPP operates VVER-1000 reactors with the installed capacity of 1000 megawatts. The power block No.1 commenced commercial operations in 2001, with the second and the third power blocks to follow in 2010 and on September 17, 2015, respectively. The power block No. 4 is currently under construction.
