The Leningrad NPP: the power unit ?3 stopped for scheduled maintenance

On August 25, 2014 the third power unit of the Leningrad nuclear power plant was shut down for scheduled maintenance until September 12, 2014.

There are power units ?1 and ?4 in work at the moment at the Leningrad NPP, their bear load constitutes 2000 MW, according to the dispatcher operation schedule. The program of resource recovery of the reactor facility characteristics is being continued at the power unit ?2.

The radiation background on an industrial platform of the Leningrad nuclear power plant, in the city Pine Pine Forest and the surrounding territory hasn't changed and corresponds to natural values.
 
The Leningrad nuclear power plant is JSC "Rosenergoatom Concern" branch. The station is located in the city Pine Pine forest, in 80 km to the west of St. Petersburg on the bank of the Finland Gulf. The Leningrad NPP is the country's first station with RBMK-1000 reactors (uranium - graphite nuclear reactors of channel type on thermal neutrons). 4 power units by electric capacity of 1000 MWt everyone are operating on the nuclear power plant.
