The Kursk NPP developed 16% of electricity in excess of the plan during 7 months

During 7 months of this year electricity generation has amounted more than 15.8 billion kWh, which is more than the planned target on 16%.

In July 2014 the Kursk NPP developed 2,136 billion KWh of electricity, also exceeding the monthly task. Consumers relcieved 1,961 billion KWh of electricity.

Capacity utilization rate of the Kursk NPP power units in July was 71.79%.

In total the Kursk NPP has generated more than 788 billion 459 million. KWh of electricity since the start-up in 1976.
 
 There are power units No. 1, 2 and 4 in work at the moment. They work at the capacity established by the dispatching schedule. On power unit No. 3 planned repairs are being carried out.  The radiation background on the nuclear power plant and around its arrangement is at the level corresponding to normal operation of power units, and doesn't exceed natural background values.   Current information about a radiation situation near the nuclear power plant in Russia and other objects of the nuclear industry is provided on a site www.russianatom.ru.

 The Kursk NPP as part of the JSC "Rosenergoatom Concern" is in the electricity division of the State Corporation "Rosatom". The station is located 40 km south-west of the city Kursk on the left bank of the Seym. There are four power units, which operate at the NPP, with channel reactors RBMK-1000 with a total capacity of 4 million. KW. The power units were connected to the unified energy system of the country in 1976, 1979, 1983 and 1985. In1994-2009 period all existing power units have come through deep technical modernization. The Kursk NPP is the largest power generating source in the Central Russian Chernozem region. The percentage of the Kursk NPP in installed capacity of all power plants in Chernozem region exceeds 50%.
