The Kolskaya nuclear power plant: on Salm's mountain-skiing complex the new season is opened

The Mountain-skiing complex of the Kolskaya nuclear power plant «Salm» became the first mountain-skiing complex in the North West of Russia to open a new sports season. «Snow canons» established at the end of October - the modern equipment for generation of snow of the Canadian production - allowed to begin the season. The springboard for acrobatics which was created in the course of flying training by «Salma's» specialists became an innovation.

On November 24 the mountain-skiing complex of the Kolskaya nuclear power plant accepts competitions of children's sports schools pupils of Murmansk region and Kaluga. Children and juniors will compete in disciplines: slalom Bonn, slalom and giant slalom.

On January 13 will pass traditional mountain skiing competitions on a prize of the Kolskaya nuclear power plant director. At the end of March, 2014 «Salma» will accept the freestyle Championship of Russia. After this mountain skiing competitions of the Russian Federation Championship will begin. Within two Championships will be carried out the Cup of Russia on freestyle and Championship of the country in mountain skiing.

Thanks to the combined efforts of the Kolskaya nuclear power plant management and Federation of mountain skis of Murmansk region in Polyarnye Zori will pass the revived Championship of the North West of Russia in mountain skiing. Last time competitions of similar level were held at the time of the USSR. The mountain-skiing Salm complex is opened not only for professionals – there are glad to see all fans of mountain skis and snowboard.

The Kolskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in 200 km to the South from Murmansk on the shore of the Lake Imandra. It develops about 60% of the electric power of Murmansk region. There are 4 power units in operation with reactors of type VVER 440 MW each. The Kolskaya nuclear power plant is the supplier of the electric power for Murmansk region and Karelia.
