The Kalinin NPP: the power unit ?3 restarted after repairs

On July 29 at 01:37 the power unit ? 3 of the Kalinin NPP was restarted after repairs was completed.

The unit was shut down due to the action of the automatic protection equipment because of the turbotrophic pump discharge on 27 July this year.

Load on the block according to the dispatcher schedule as at 16.00 on July 29 is 730 MW.

There are four power units in work at the moment on the Kalinin NPP. Radiation background in the vicinity of the nuclear power plant and the adjacent territory corresponds to the normal operation of power, and does not exceed the natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
