The Balakovo NPP: power unit ?4 stopper for scheduled maintenance

On August 14, 2014 at 01:57 the Balakovo power unit ?4 in accordance with the planned application was disconnected from the network manager to resolve the power system for refueling and carrying out preventative maintenance.

Unloading and stopping of the power unit were carried out without comments, in accordance with the process requirements for safe operation.

Radiation situation in the area of ??the Balakovo NPP is without changing, figures correspond to the natural background radiation values ??for the European part of Russia.

There are power units ??1, 2 and 3 operating at the moment at the Balakovo NPP, with a total load of 3085 MW.

The Balakovo NPP is a branch of JSC "Rosenergoatom Concern" and is situated 8 km from the town of Balakovo, Saratov region on the left bank of the Saratov Reservoir.
 
At the station four power units with pressurized water reactors VVER-1000 with capacity of 1,000 MW each operates. The Balakovo NPP provides a quarter of electricity production in the Volga Federal District and fifth of all generation of nuclear power stations in country. It supplies energy for the Volga region Center, the Urals and Siberia.
