The Balakovo NPP management system in conformity with international level

The Balakovo NPP reaffirmed compliance with the management system of occupational safety and health (OHSAS 18001-2007) and quality management system (ISO 9001: 2008) as a result of which the inspection took place from 11 to 15 August. Its audit team conducted Certification of Association "Russian Register" under the leadership of Gennady Guts.

The audit involved about thirty divisions station. In assessing compliance with international standards of production, management and support processes, objectives, policies and documentation using traditional methods: observation, collection of objective evidence, analysis and interviews with staff. The auditors noted that the nuclear power plant specialists demonstrated openness and interest in objective findings.

In the final document several strengths of management systems of the Balakovo NPP were stated. Among them were the introduction of the operating staff of personal eye protection, the use of electric transport for transportation of radioactive waste, as well as remote of control systems of process equipment safe operation. The report on the results of inspection noted: management system supported by the nuclear power plant in operation, is developed in accordance with the principle of continuous improvement in the overall efficiency and meet the criteria for audit.

Here they use the new equipment that reduces physical activity, the probability of being subjected to various types of hazards. In addition, the communication itself with professionals leaves a positive impression - always a pleasure to talk with knowledgeable people and even to learn something from them. "

Management System Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS 18001: 2007) developed and implemented at the Balakovo NPP in 2011. This system is an internationally recognized tool for improving the performance of companies and reduce risks to workers and the public living in the vicinity of the enterprise.

The Balakovo NPP in 2004 became the first Russian nuclear power plants, which have been certified for compliance with the QMS requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2001 and regulations in the field of atomic energy-NP 011-99. Possession of certificates is evidence of compliance and maintain high standards in the performance of manufacturing processes and ensure quality performance in the production of electrical energy.
