On July 19, 2012 Smolensk NPP experts gave a tour to the biotechnologies laboratory of Smolensk NPP reservoir for high school students of the summer camp of Desnogorsk School 1.

Such tours are regularly held within the work on environmental education and vocational guidance of school students.
During the tour the laboratory workers told the school students about the role of reservoirs in the operation of nuclear power plants, about how to maintain the biological balance of the reservoir and conduct the biologic amelioration. With their own eyes, the boys and girls have seen how the fish was grown, how stocking of the reservoir was carried out, and what functions different types of fish performed.

The summer camp pupils made sure that Smolensk NPP was responsible for ensuring favorable environmental situation in the region of the plant’s location and its efficient and safe operation.
