Smolensk NPP: Opening of V Interregional Military-Patriotic Rally Takes Place in Desnogorsk
On June 13 opening of the V Interregional military-patriotic rally “Fatherland”, organized by the city Administration and Smolensk NPP, took place.
The purpose of the event was a spiritual and patriotic, and physical education of the youth, including, the so-called “difficult” children, promotion of healthy lifestyle, study of the history of the native land. The rally program provides for carrying out of various contests and sports games on military applied skills and sports land navigation. The final will be a “zone of courage”, where the participants will show the acquired skills and abilities.
This year the rally has a status of an international event. Among the teams from Desnogorsk, Smolensk, Roslavl, Yershichi, it is attended by children from Belarus. In total – about 70 teens.
The rally was opened by Head of Administration of Desnogorsk, Sergey Toschev: “It is symbolic that yeaterday our country celebrated an important national holiday – the Day of Russia, and today starts our event. During the week, children, you will have an opportunity to touch the history of our state and homeland, live in field conditions and learn the basics of the basic training, feel what the daily regimen and strict discipline are. All this, no doubt, will be useful in your future life and studying.”
Congratulating the young army men, Deputy Director of the plant, Anatoliy Terletskiy, noted that the milestone event was the participation in the rally “Fatherland” of a team from Belarus. “Our two nations are linked inextricably, and it is great that here at this military-patriotic event the youth will be able to communicate, learn a lot, and make new friends,” he stressed.
The rally “Fatherland” will run until June 20.
Smolensk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. Annually SNPP provides the country power system at an average of about 20 billion kWh of electrical power, which makes about 13% of energy produced by Rosenergoatom Concern and more than 80% produced by the power enterprises of the Smolensk Region.
