Smolensk NPP Reconstructs Urban Sports Ground
In the first Desnogorsk community there was finished a reconstruction of the basketball court. Such a gift to the residents of the city was made by Smolensk NPP, the activities of which is a sample of social responsibility.
On June 6, 2012 the plant’s Director Andrey Petrov, his Deputies Anatoliy Terletskiy and Vladimir Grebeshev, Chief of the Power Choring Office, Alexander Mareyev, were here on the day of opening of the renovated sports facility.
A need to improve the areas within the yard, reparation of the existing and construction of new playgrounds and sports grounds in Desnogorsk escalated long ago. “To make children achieve results in sports, they should train themselves on modern grounds,” noted Director of Smolensk NPP, Andrey Petrov. “And we do all possible for this. One of the steps is to give the second life to the basketball court, which has been for the long time in a bad condition. The work is done perfectly, with the soul.”
It should be noted that the requirements given to basketball courts, especially, those, which are located in the open air, are extremely high. The work is performed in compliance with these requirements. The covering is comfortable for players, and has a high abrasion resistance and resistance temperature falls. The construction should serve to the city and its residents for a long time.
Opening of the sports ground the young athletes admitted with enthusiasm and immediately held a streetball warm-up match, noting that they liked the ground and, especially, its covering: “Here everything is super, great! We will take care of all this to make it last for a long. Thanks to those who made this ground for us!”
Smolensk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. Annually SNPP provides the country power system at an average of about 20 billion kWh of electrical power, which makes about 13% of energy produced by Rosenergoatom Concern and more than 80% produced by the power enterprises of the Smolensk Region.
