Rostov NPP: unit transformers of power unit No 4 under construction are energized
Under the next stage of energizing the auxiliary voltage the Rostov NPP specialists have energized the unit transformers of Rostov NPP’s power unit No 4. The energizing of unit transformers is one of the stages of the commissioning works.
“One year ago the reserve transformers were energized; this allowed us to start the commissioning works at installed electrical equipment. At the present time we carry out 6 and 0.4 kW electric motor idling of process systems mechanisms in reactor building and turbine house, the assembling and arrangements for testing the safety system pump unit, primary system’s make-up units”, - the Deputy Chief Engineer for operation of Phase II of Rostov NPP Aleksandr Belyaev said.

The Rostov NPP is an affiliate company for Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is based at the Tsymlianskoe reservoir shore 13.5 km away from Volgodonsk. The NPP operates VVER-1000 reactors with the installed capacity of 1000 megawatts. The power block No.1 commenced commercial operations in 2001, with the second and the third power blocks to follow in 2010 and on September 17, 2015, respectively. The power block No. 4 is currently under construction.
