Rostov NPP: Volgodonsk Premiere of Musical “Dream” Plant as Part of “Nuclear Kids-2012” Project

On August 8, 2012 Volgodonsk had a premiere of the musical “The Dream” Plant, the participants of which were 76 young talents at the age of 11-15 years old from various countries, united by the “Nuclear Kids-2012” international children’s creative project organized by the Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency, Rosatom. Among them were the children from Volgodonsk: Darya Simonova, Maria Perfilyeva and Oleg Levchenko.



“Nuclear Kids” started on July 17 in the All-Russian Children’s Centre, “Orlyonok”, in the Tuapse region. “The Nuclear Session” participants staged a professional musical under the guidance of teachers just in 20 days, and brought it to Volgodonsk.

“Within such a short time, we managed to make a good product, for which we are not ashamed. It was hard, but we succeeded in achieving the goal,” said Director of the project, an actor of the Musical Theatre (Moscow), Alexey Frandetti.

Volgodonsk met the “Nuclear Kids” in the big hall of Kurchatov Culture House with sellout. The premiere was seen not only by Volgodonsk, but also by residents of neighboring rural areas. The musical passed, as the phrase goes, in one breath. The audience rose in applause welcoming the young talents and expressed its admiration with ovation.  

Acting Deputy Director for Staff Management of Rostov NPP, Alexander Bushnev, on behalf of Rostov NPP’s staff thanked the managers of the project, its organizers and all participants for the opportunity to see the creativity of young talents in the city.  

 “It’s a wonderful project! I haven’t seen yet anything similar. I wish all the participants success in the creative work, and I express my sincere thanks to Rosatom State Corporation for such a great gift presented to Volgodonsk,” shared her impressions Deputy Mayor of Volgodonsk for Social Issues, Natalya Polyschuk.

Departing from the city, the young talents left a part of fiery energy to Volgodonsk residents, and took with themselves the warmth and kindness of Don appreciative audience.  

Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with the capacity of 1,000 MW each. Power Units 3 and 4 are nowadays under construction.
