Rostov NPP: Plant ETS Strikes Balance of Contest “Best Instructor”

At the educational and training subdivision of Rostov NPP, there has passed debriefing of the professional skills contest for the title of the best instructor.



Five instructors, who by the results of the end of the year were among the best, took part in it.
This year the contest, which has already become traditional, was held in two stages, it included tests of theoretical and practical knowledge of instructors of ETS.

The results of the contest were summed up by the Committee headed by Chief of the educational and training subdivision, Yuri Lebedev. Both of the stages were assessed by specific criteria, for the correct answers the contestants gained points, which were summarized according to two stages.

After summarizing the results, the title of the best instructor of ETS was awarded to Alexander Yakovenko, an instructor of the Department of Response Personnel Training. On the second place was Viktor Povzlo, an instructor of the Department of Personnel Training for Technical Service and Reparation; on the third place was Vera Leonenko, an instructor of the Department of General Training of Personnel.

According to Deputy Chief of ETS, Andrey Philippov, such events help to reveal and evaluate the potential of the subdivision’s employees, discover strong and weak points in training of the personnel of the plant.

 “The contest, which has a positive effect on personnel training, helps instructors in their future work, and, therefore, increases the safety level of the nuclear power plant,” Andrey Philippov said, summarizing the event.

Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with the capacity of 1,000 MW. Unit 1 was commissioned in 2001 and Unit 2 – in December 2010. Since 2009 Power Units 3 and 4 have been being under construction.
