Rostov NPP Founds Bard Song Festival
From June 14 to 17 in the Cossack village Romanovskaya of Volgodonskiy district, there passed the XIV Interregional Festival of the Bard Song ТThe Strings of the SoulУ.
Over the years Rostov nuclear power plant has been being a founder of this wonderful feast of the art song. This year the Festival was marked by the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Rostov region.
The management and employees of Rostov NPP took an active part in preparation to the Festival being involved in the organizing committee. There was organized a financial support, work of the information and presentation area of the nuclear power plant during the days of the Festival. Among the honorable guests, there was the management of the plant headed by Director, Andrey Salnikov.
This year more than 250 singers of the art song from 18 regions of Russia and Ukraine arrived at the Festival. 185 participants passed through the competitive selection. According to the juryХs recognition, the level of the participants of the current Festival was very high, and it was hard to determine the winners.
As a result, the owner of the Grand Prix of the XIV Interregional Festival of the Art Song ТThe Strings of the SoulУ has become a singer from Novoshakhtinsk of the Rostov region, Viktor Gavrilenko. The second consecutive year, the special prize of Rostov NPP went to Oksana Varushkina (Volzhskiy) as a winner in the nomination ТThe Best SingerУ. In total, 19 singers and bard teams were awarded by special prizes, certificates and memorable gifts.
On June 16 Governor of the Rostov region, Vasiliy Golubev, visited the Festival on the meadow. He viewed the improvised Cossack courtyards, took a walk in ТThe City of CraftsmenУ, watched the concert program with the participation of bards, and visited the information and presentation area of Rostov NPP.
Addressing the participants and guests of the Festival with greetings, Vasiliy Golubev wished their strings of souls to sound always warm and sincere, and informed on his decision to carry out next fifteenth Festival of the Bard Song under the support of the regional government.
The performance of the popular group ТPrime-MinisterУ has become a gift for the participants and guests of the Festival. Fireworks put a termination to the celebratory Festival.
Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The enterprise is situated on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir at 13,5 km from Volgodonsk. NPP operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with the capacity of 1,000 MW. Unit 1 was commissioned in 2001 and Unit 2 Р in December 2010.
