Rosenergoatom: the delivery of materials to FNPP construction site for construction and assembly works to be over in mid 2017 is completed

The construction materials for the construction of the world's first floating nuclear power plant (FNPP) are delivered to Chukotka.

The delivery process has been unique: it was the first time in the history of Northern Supply Haul when the delivery was made so late in a calendar period Р in January. It usually ends in mid-November.

On 7 January, 2017 the cement, sand, gravel, tubular products and containers weighing about 8.9 tons arrived in Pevek on board of two ships Р ТSinegorskУ and ТIohann MahmastalУ accompanied by icebreakers ТCaptain DranitsinУ and ТAdmiral MakarovТ.

This caravan was the latest navigation in 2016; it finished the delivery of materials required for construction and assembly works ending in the mid 2017.

The next goods delivery to Pevek will be carried out strictly in accordance with the construction schedule in the current year navigation Р in July and August.

The caravan was in transit for almost a month Р since 12 December, 2016. Due to difficult ice conditions the vessels sometimes run no more than 10-15 miles per day. Often en route ice floes were compressed so much that it completely blocked any progress toward the goal.

At present the unloading of ships is in process.
