On May 13, 2011, Novovoronezh NPP power unit No.3 was shutdown for scheduled preventive repair and nuclear fuel reloading for 45 days.

In the period of the scheduled preventive repair, the following scheduled operations are to be carried out at power unit No. 3: major repair of steam generators Nos. 1 and 2; main circulating pumps Nos. 1 and 5, turbine generator No. 9; middle life repair of the reactor unit, turbine generator sets Nos. 9 and 10; turbine generator No. 10; current repair of steam generators Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6; control of pipelines RO and TO metal equipment.

At present, power unit No. 4 of Novovoronezh NPP works at a nominal capacity. In September 2010, power unit No. 5 was shutdown in order to perform works on its service life prolongation.

The radiation background at the NPP corresponds to the normal operation of power units. The radiation background average values in Novovoronezh NPP 30 km control area corresponds to natural environmental values of the Central European Part of Russia.
