Novovoronezh NPP: Farewell Bell at Schools of Nuclear EngineersХ City
On May 25, 2012 for two hundred school leavers from five schools of the nuclear engineersХ city Novovoronezh, there rang the farewell bell.
This class turned out to be fruitful for awards: according to the Municipal Department for Education, the schools graduates claimed 14 golden and 13 silver medals.
On the solemn lineups, except the flowers and parting words, the children were presented gifts from sponsors, the chief among which was the local economic mainstay - Novovoronezh NPP.
ТThe presence of the nuclear engineers Р the plantХs management, representatives of subdivisions, deputies of the State Duma at solemn lineups at schools is not just for the record,У noted Deputy Director for Staff Management, Anatoliy Levadniy. ТThis is a part of the vocational guidance of youth, which we are constantly doing, and doing quite closely and carefully. ThatХs why todayХs school graduates are the future, which will appear at our nuclear power plant. This is the future, which will have eleven years to study in order later to get an excellent education, and also become professional nuclear experts. So it all starts with the first-graders.У
The choice of jobs for many young people is a closed issue. As for example, a graduate of the 11th grade, School 5, Igor Taldygin, whose grandfather worked, and whose father currently works at Unit 5 of Novovoronezh NPP. ТI wish to follow in their footsteps,У says Igor himself, ТI have already received an assignment to Obninsk Institute. In other words, IХm almost a student.У
ТThere is a pool of universities,У commented on the situation Anatoliy Levadniy, Тwhich are engaged in training of professionals for the nuclear power industry. And we, in other words Rosenergoatom Concern, assign all the winners of academic contests on field-specific subjects to study at these educational institutions. Igor is one among them.У
After the solemn lineups at schools, the school graduates Р the winners of field-specific subject contests, were invited to the meeting with Head of Administration, where they took part in the conversation ТThe Past, Present and Future (Atomic Cities are the Centres of the Scientific Elite).У
School leavers also visited the museum of Novovoronezh NPP.
And the eventful day ended with the youth dance on the central square of Novovoronezh.
Novovoronezh NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated on the bank of the Don river at 42 km south of Voronezh. It is the first NPP in Russia, which operates reactors of VVER-type (Vessel type Pressurized Water Reactor with light water under pressure). Each of the five plant reactors are prime Р a prototype of serial power reactors: No.1 power unit operates on VVER-210-type reactor, No.2 power unit Р VVER-365, No.3,4 power units Р VVER-440, No.5 power unit Р VVER-1000.
The radiation background in the area of the plant and the adjacent territory corresponds to the level of power unitsХ normal operation and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
