Novovoronezh NPP Employees Join Rank of Winners of Photo Competition Held by Rosenergoatom Concern
Novovoronezh nuclear engineers have got a victory in two categories of the first open photo competition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Rosenergoatom Concern.
Thus, Senior Foreman of Thermal Automatics and Measurements Shop, Vadim Chebotarev, has become a winner in the category ТMy LandУ (photo, ТOn the WaterУ). In the category ТProfessional LookУ of the photo competition the first prize was distributed between three representatives of the city: Photographer of NV NPP PIC, Olga Berezhkova (ТA View of NV NPP from the Chalk MountainsУ), Operator of cable TV, Roman Pyshkin (the cyclus of 14 pictures of NV NPP) and Chief Engineer of Personnel Training Center, Yeugeny Salnikov (ТSimulator DebuggingУ and ТFeather Grass in the SteppeУ).
In all, for the first open photo competition ТMy Concern: a History of SuccessУ there were submitted about 174 works. The competition was held in 10 categories; a committee represented by the Central Office staff of the Concern led by Director of the Public Relations and Information Office, Andrey Timonov.
According to organizers, the competition was aimed, first of all, at the nuclear power plant employees engaged in photography professionally. The works of professionals Р NPP and third-party organizationsХ photographers Р were evaluated in the special category ТProfessional LookУ.
The competition was attended by 8 representatives of Novovoronezh. ItХs gratifying to note that Vadim Chebotarev, an employee of NV NPP, could get a victory in one of the most prestigious categories. ТI have been fascinated with photography since 1996. Most of all I take pictures for myself, from time to time, and I take part in any competitions very rare. Until this time I won in a photo competition of one fishing magazine,У told the winner.
Awarding of winners will take place on August 16 in the Multimedia Art Museum ТMoscow House of PhotographyУ within the ceremony of opening of the photo exhibition ТAtomic CivilizationУ.
Novovoronezh NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated on the bank of the Don river at 42 km south of Voronezh. It is the first NPP in Russia, which operates reactors of VVER-type (Vessel type Pressurized Water Reactor with light water under pressure).
Each of the five plant reactors are prime Р a prototype of serial power reactors: No.1 power unit operates on VVER-210-type reactor, No.2 power unit Р VVER-365, No.3,4 power units Р VVER-440, No.5 power unit Р VVER-1000.
Currently three power units are operated (Units 1 and 2 were stopped in 1984 and 1990, respectively).
