Meeting on Issues of Organization of Units Maintenance Completes at Novovoronezh NPP
On June 21, 2012 there was completed a work of a three-day meeting on the ТOrganization of NPPsХ Units Maintenance in 2012У.
The meeting was headed and held by Director of the Department for the Technical Maintenance, Repair and Installation at NPPs of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, Alexander Krupskiy. To participate in the discussion of the topic, there have arrived heads of departments of maintenance preparation and carrying out of nuclear power plants of Russia, and representatives of JSC Atomenergoremont and NAEK Energoatom (State Corporation National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine).
A start to the substantive conversation about the condition and problems of maintenance services was given by the reports ТObjects of the Maintenance Organization at NPPs of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSCУ and ТResults of Work of GP NAEK EnergoatomУ, and a message about the realization of the cooperation program of the Concern REA with the Ukrainian colleagues in the area of the maintenance cooperation.
During the discussion, there were considered the outcome of the maintenance campaign at NPPs of Russia in 2011, ensuring of readiness for the maintenance campaign of 2012, and the reasons for changing the maintenance schedules due to unplanned outages.
There were raised questions considering improvement of the training and qualification of the maintenance personnel, and procurement. The reporters noted that the high-quality preliminary scheduling and preparation, and improvement of the project evaluation and review technique (PERT), optimization of costs and introduction of new technologies, and increase in labour productivity are important for the maintenance reliability growth. According to the results of the meeting, there was approved a list of extra measures for increasing the level of the organization and management of the maintenance.
As the positive aspects, the participants mentioned the development of Rosatom Production System and realization of the integrated program to improve the efficiency of the Concern. (IPIEC).
ТThe meeting assumed an international character, and eventually got a wide format, than expected,У Alexander Krupskiy mentioned summing up the meeting. ТSuch meetings on the experience sharing are very useful and efficient. As a rule, in the working conditions we have no enough time for such a detailed discussion of the problems and complicated issues. And if it is a direct communication, itХs more efficient. The result of our work is that during the discussions we have worked out a list of verified instructions on the development and improvement of maintenance systems. So, we have much work ahead.У
During the visit the guests made walking around the city, visited the 5th unit of Novovoronezh NPP, viewed the full-scale simulator of the personnel training centre, and were at the observation site of the units under construction, where they took pictures for memory.
Novovoronezh NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is situated on the bank of the Don river at 42 km south of Voronezh. It is the first NPP in Russia, which operates reactors of VVER-type (Vessel type Pressurized Water Reactor with light water under pressure). Each of the five plant reactors are prime Р a prototype of serial power reactors: No.1 power unit operates on VVER-210-type reactor, No.2 power unit Р VVER-365, No.3,4 power units Р VVER-440, No.5 power unit Р VVER-1000. The first unit was started in 1964, 2nd Р in 1969, 3rd Р in 1971, 4th Р in 1972, and the fifth Р in 1979.
Currently, the plant operates three power units (Units 1 and 2 were stopped in 1984 and 1990, respectively).
