Leningrad NPP completed the work of the Training and Guiding Seminar organized by the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom in cooperation with the Institute of Global Nuclear Security (a branch of NRNU MEPhI) held for the heads of mobilization bodies of subordinate enterprises and organizations of Rosatom.  

The seminar, in point of fact Р meeting of mobilization workers Р is an annual event, which is held with the purpose of summarizing of the mobilization training system functioning at enterprises of the State Corporation this year, and setting of the new tasks for the next year.



Director of Leningrad NPP, Vladimir Pereguda, greeted the participants of the seminar Р more than 70 representatives of nuclear power plants and other Rosatom enterprises. Speaking on the operation of LNPP, he noted the peculiarities of location of the plant Р the proximity of the 5-million metropolis and two foreign countries (Finland and Estonia), which imposes on it the additional responsibility for the safe operation of units. ТTherefore, communication and exchange of experience of the seminar participants,У said Director of Leningrad NPP, Тwill give only positive results and will contribute to improving of the work in mobilization training.У

He also spoke about the success of Leningrad NPP achieved in recent years: the first echelon of containers with spent nuclear fuel was sent to the storage of the integrated mining and chemical plant in Zheleznogorsk that bespeaks a solution of important industrial task on disposal of RBMK SNF from nuclear power plants; there was completed a project on construction of a complex for storage and processing of solid radioactive waste materials, and a number of other works equally important for the safe plantХs operation.

During the work the seminar participants discussed the issues of legal, social and economic aspects, assistance to organizations and enterprises of Rosatom State Corporation in mobilization planning and implementation of measures.

In addition to hearing reports and discussing the problems, there passed thematic sessions, which were held based on the full-scale simulator of the Training Point of LNPP, where the actions of the operating personnel in case of an accident at a nuclear power plant were shown.

One of the working days of the seminar was fully dedicated to LNPP professionals, which shared their experience in mobilization and training of practical skills in case of an emergency at NPP.  
    
Genuine interest of the participants of the seminar was arisen by the film about the organization of the physical protection of the plant from the side of the Gulf of Finland. In the other speakersХ reports Р and they were ten on the agenda Р there were reflected the issues related to other sides of the multifaceted work of the nuclear power plant in case of an accident: communications organization, radiation, chemical and biological protection, radiation monitoring, actions of employees of the military record office, population warning and mass media informing.

One of the places for holding the seminar was the protected emergency response operations control room located in the city, therefore, all what was spoken in the reports was supported by the demonstration of the equipment and equipped rooms, which in case of a necessity are ready for the control over the situation.
In addition, the guests were shown the equipping of shelters at LNPP used for sheltering of the personnel of the plant and contracting organizations in case of such a necessity.

In general, the main theme of the discussion, which was worked out on the offsite seminar Р organization of mobilization work Р was quite thorough that indicates the seriousness of the issues and necessity of holding of such meetings.
