Kursk NPP: Premiere of Musical in Kurchatov as Part of ТNuclear Kids-2012У Project of State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom
From August 9 to 11, 2012 Kursk NPP hosted a creative team of 105 participants of the international childrenХs project organized by the State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom, ТNuclear Kids-2012У. Among them were 77 children from Russia, Bulgaria, Hungary, RSA, Turkey, Korea and India.
The project started four years ago with the purpose to support and strengthen the friendly ties between the children of employees of nuclear enterprises of Russia and foreign countries, develop new traditions of the childrenХs creativity, broaden childrenХs outlook, and promote the nuclear industry among the younger generation.
Strict casting held in 14 satellite cities of the nuclear industry enterprises, including Kurchatov, selected the most talented children. Kurchatov citizens Anastasia Lyamtseva, Daniil Cherednichenko, Darya Konstantinova and Anastasia Nasibullina were the luckiest. Anastasia Lyamtseva takes part in the project for the second time.
It is noteworthy that this year, despite the tradition, the creative preparation of the children was held not in the Moscow-area recreation and retreat centre, but in the famous All-Russian ChildrenХs Center ТOrlyonokУ (the Krasnodarsk region), rented by Rosatom to carry out the project. Just in 18 days, the talented teachers and stage managers could make real actors from simple children: the children learned poems, texts, songs, including those in English, learned how to move on the stage and perform various dance numbers. Almost all the participants first met each other on the project, many of them did not speak Russian, but nevertheless they were able to unite themselves and become a real team of associates just in a short period of time.
Staging of the musical ТThe DreamУ StationУ, the premiere of which took place on August 5 in Volgodonsk, has become the sum up of the joint work of Тnuclear childrenУ from various countries. In Kurchatov the musical was performed on 10 August.
During two hours before the full hall of audience the children made a performance, where a common thread ran through a railway topic Р with trains, vanity and disorder, from the one hand, and through human values, real friendship, despite of obstacles appearing in life, and, certainly, arising love, from the other hand. They have reminded to all of us that happiness might be just near us, and for this it was not necessary to conquer Moscow, as our expectations, as it often happened, might become false.
In the play the children skillfully defined the problems of disunity, social withdrawal; they showed that people needed to enjoy each moment of life and appreciate what they already had. With the help of expressive aids of art, the young artists appealed adults to participate and be more attentive and careful to the problems of adolescents, because just in that age children needed care, love and understanding. The ТNuckidsУ have demonstrated to Kurchatov citizens an excellent vocal control, movement on the stage, art of dance and, for sure, acting techniques. The appreciative audience has been applauding the young stars for the long time not releasing them from the stage and having made them play the final part as an encore.
ТThe project ТNuclear KidsУ is quite creative and somehow unusual. It was originally conceived to be as a union of children of the nuclear industry employees of Russia, and other countries,У noted Anna Trapeznikova Р a Head of the project and representative of Rosatom. ТNow it has become stronger, more powerful, and has grown significantly in the qualitative sense, and new countries join it. The studies are preceded by the serious castings, which we try to carry out in the cities of the nuclear industry of Russia. The peculiarity of this year project is that we perform with a summary concert not in Moscow, as it happened before, but we give a tour in the cities of location of nuclear enterprises.У
After a triumphant performance, the ТNucKidsУ project participants went on tour to the Public Information Centre of Kursk NPP, where they learned a lot on the operation of Kursk NPP.
At the present time, Kursk NPP operates the power units No.1, 2 and 3. The units work at the capacity rated by the dispatch schedule. The power unit No.4 is under maintenance.
The radiation background in the area of Kursk NPP and the territory of its location corresponds to the level of power unitsХ normal operation and does not exceed the natural environmental values.

ТOf course, there are quite a lot of people wishing to participate in the project, but we try to select the best of the best,У added Production Director, Alexey Frandetti. ТThe selection was difficult. Musical is not a simple genre, and if before we staged music performances, now we have made up our minds to create a musical. Because here one should combine such features as being an actor, vocalist and dancer at the same time. Moreover, it is not an amateur art, it is a professional work.
We have chosen the songs from the most known Broadway musicals, wrote the Russian text, and the guys do all professionally. I may say it for sure as an artist who has been working in this genre for 10 years. And we are very pleased to perform in your hall: professional, comfortable, with good acoustics.У
