Kursk NPP Completes Certification of Training Point

From May 14 to 18, 2012 the training point of Kursk NPP passed through a certification. It was held according to the order of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC in order to provide training and maintenance of Kursk NPP staffХs skills at the level required for the effective and safe operation of the nuclear power plant; to determine the compliance of Kursk NPP training point activitiesХ compliance with the requirements of Federal Laws, regulatory documents and standard acts of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC in training and proficiency maintaining of nuclear power plantsХ staff.


The commission was headed by Chief Expert of the Department for Staff Management of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC Lyudmila Bystrikova. In the work of certification commission there participated deputy Chief Engineers for staff training of Kursk, Balakovo, Bilibino, Leningrad and Kalinin nuclear power plants, a Chief of the Department of JSC VNIIAES (All-Russian Research Institute for Nuclear Power Plants Operation) and the management of Kursk NPP.

    
Following the results of the work of the commission, there was singed an act. The commission decided to recommend to the management of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC to certify the training point for four years. Kursk NPP management was requested to develop corrective actions on realization of the commissionХs recommendations.   

At the present time, Kursk NPP operates the power units No.2, 3 and 4. The units work at the capacity rated by the dispatch schedule. The power unit No.1 has been being under the scheduled midlife maintenance. 

The radiation background in the area of Kursk NPP and the adjacent territory corresponds to the level of power unitsХ normal operation and does not exceed the natural environmental values.
