Kalinin NPP Holds Joint Retreat on Power Units Operation

On May 15, 2012 at Kalinin NPP under the guidance of the Deputy General Director Р Director for Production and Operation of NPPs of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC Alexander Shutikov, there was held a joint retreat on the operation of units of Kalinin nuclear power plant.

It also was attended by representatives of subdivisions for production and operation of the unit of the Central Office of the Concern, the Director of Kalinin NPP Mikhail Kanyshev, Chief Engineer Igor Bogomolov, and Deputies of the Chief Engineer of Kalinin plant.
As Alexander Shutikov noted according to the results of the meeting: ТThe joint retreat is one of the forms of work of technical services on current operation issues. The questions that are considered in the meeting are defined by the nuclear power plant. These are the issues, which interest the NPP in terms of importance of its objectives, and those that must be resolved directly in situ. This is a planned meeting, which is defined by the schedule of works of the Technical Direction of the Concern.У

The agenda of the meeting included 9 questions, including such as transition of Kalinin NPP power units on the level of 104 % thermal power, check of the readiness to work on replacement of the condenser of Unit 1 in the framework of the program implementation on extending the lifetime of the unit; implementation of the measures plan developed by the analysis of events at Fukushima NPP in Japan.

At the end of the visit, the participants made round of a number of sites of the industrial area of Kalinin NPP.

Kalinin NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The Plant is situated on the north of the Tver Region in Udomelsk district. Kalinin NPP includes four power units with pressurized water reactors (VVER-1000) each one having the installed capacity of 1,000 MW. Implementation of the stage ТPilot OperationУ continues its realization on the 4th power unit, which start-up took place on November 2011.
