On August 14-15, 2012 General Director of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, Evgeniy Romanov, visited Balakovo nuclear power plant (Balakovo city, the Saratov region). It was the first visit of Yevgeniy Romanov to Balakovo NPP.



Accompanied by Director of the plant, Viktor Ignatov, General Director of the Concern viewed the operating power units, made the round of the industrial site of the plant. At the operational meeting with the administrative-technical staff, Head of the Concern learned in details the history and industrial achievements of Balakovo NPP, as well as the problems, which recked Balakovo nuclear scientists.

In particular, Evgeniy Romanov promised to favorably solve the problem on enlargement and reconstruction of the Public Information Centre of the plant, as well as to study in details the subject of purchasing the second, unfinished, half of the building of the preventative clinic, which would increase the number of beds for rehabilitation and recovery of retired employees and veterans of Balakovo NPP. 

Also, General Director met with the trade union activists, veterans and young professionals of the plant, answered their questions in details and visited the personnel training center of the plant.

The results of his visit Evgeniy Romanov summed up at the meeting with Balakovo journalists: ТI have visited the nuclear power plant, which for many years has been the best according to the annual contest of the Concern Rosenergoatom, and I had some fears that the picture would not confirm my expectations. I may say that they are fully justified, and I consider that the plant holds the first place fairly.У

Particularly, he noted the non-indifferent attitude of the management of the plant to the problems of occupational safety: ТIt can be felt that occupational health and safety comes from the inside, the managers of all levels really worry about the staff.У
At the meeting with journalists, there also were involved the issues of interrelationship with Balakovo municipal entity. General Director of Rosenergoatom stressed that the main subject in supporting of the regions of the plantХs location was timely tax payment to the local budgets.

In addition, the Concern will give financial assistance in the construction of the new kindergarten in Balakovo, and also there will be considered a possibility of restoring fisheries of Volga and assistance in modernization of equipment of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant.
