Experts of Khmelnitsky NPP Call on Rostov Nuclear Power Plant

On May 20-26 a delegation of experts of Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant paid a working visit to Rostov NPP within the cooperation agreement.

The purpose of the visit was to exchange experience in construction of new power units, departmental supervision, as well as maintenance organization and carrying out.

The Ukrainian guests got acquainted with the practical use at Rostov NPP of the project evaluation and review technique under the management of NPP construction project, development of the network construction schedule in terms of the Procurement Law, and relations established between the customer, designer and general contractor.

Activities to enhance the reliability and safety of the pile assembly, as well as the experience of maintenance of the thermal and mechanical equipment according to its technical state, which had been marked by the international experts of the nuclear power industry as an experience for distribution at other nuclear power plants, stirred great interest of nuclear engineers, the colleagues.

Deputy Chief Engineer for maintenance, Ivan Malakhov noted: ТDespite that we live in different countries, the approaches to the operation of nuclear power plants are similar, and the priority here is to ensure safety. Cross fertilization on many issues related to safe and reliable operation of plants is much better at the level of personal contact.У

Following the visit, both sides confirmed the intention to further cooperation as, according to Ivan Malakhov, this was reciprocally beneficial both for Khmelnitsky and Rostov NPPs.
