In the period of June 19-25, 2012 there was conducted the first inspection audit of the certified environmental management system (EMS) of Bilibino nuclear power plant, a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern, for the conformance with the requirements of the national standard GOST R ISO 14001-2007 and international standard ISO 14001:2004.

The audit team DQS German Certification Association of Management Systems has arrived to Bilibino NPP to carry out an inspection audit of the environmental management system.

The audit team involved: a Head of the audit team Р Fomin Sergey Anatoliyevich and a co-auditor Р Novak Olga Gavrilovna.

The environmental management system is a part of the management control system with its organizational structure, elements, mechanisms, procedures and resources. The system is aimed at the management of the environmental aspects of Bilibino NPP.  

The objects of the environmental management system are: reducing of the negative impacts of Bilibino NPP on the environment; increasing of the environmental safety of Bilibino NPP; increasing of the degree of protection of Bilibino NPP from natural and manmade emergency situations.

According to Head of the audit team, Sergey Fomin, it can be confirmed with certainty that the environmental management system of Bilibino nuclear power plant, a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern, complies with the requirements of the national standard GOST R ISO 14001-2007 and international standard ISO 14001:2004, functions and improves constantly.

The audit team recommends to the independent body for certification of management systems SSU DQS Ltd. (DQS Management Systems Certification Ltd.) to give further effect to the certificate of conformance.
