Baltic NPP: Student from Kaliningrad Becomes 600 Thousandth Visitor of Net of Information Centres for Nuclear Energy

A student of 11th form, School 33, Kaliningrad, Yulia Bogrina, has become the 600 thousandth visitor of the Net of Information Centres for Nuclear Energy of Russia.

It was a coincidence that it happened on the Day of the Nuclear Worker. Yulia participated as a volunteer in the sports and intellectual marathon of ТThe Science of the FutureУ held among students of 9th forms of educational institutions of the region, she helped children to pass the contest stages.

At Kaliningrad Information Centre for Nuclear Energy Yulia Bogrina is not a newcomer; together with her classmates she constantly attends online classes. According to Yulia, she is especially interested in lectures on nuclear medicine so as she wants to become a dentist and she sees the future of her profession in applying of the most advanced nuclear technologies.

The classes attended at the Information Centre help Yulia, as other many students, get prestigious places in the Olympics. The prizes awarded by Director of the Information Centre for Nuclear Energy, Irina Starunova, will help her be better prepared for the future contests: an eBook and a set of unique items from the Collections of Kurchatov Library, and on the part of JSC Baltic NPP she received a special Certificate.

Yulia Bogrina has also enough time for doing sports: she is a holder of the blue belt in karate; in 2010 she took the 2nd place in the World Cup and now is actively preparing for the next competitions.

Information Centres for Nuclear Energy were formed in the regions of presence of nuclear facilities or their construction in order to educate the population on the use of nuclear energy. Nowadays they operate in 15 cities of Russia. In Kaliningrad ICNE has been operating since 2010, for that time it was visited by 70 thousand residents and guests of the amber land.
