Balakovo NPP: September Plan Performed by 112.8 %

In September, 2012, Balakovo NPP operated safely and reliably. The scheduled task of the month is performed by 112.8 %.

In September the nuclear power plant generated over 2,451 billion kWh of electric energy. In excess of the plan there was produced about 277.5 million kWh of electric power.

The installed capacity utilization factor (ICUF) has made up 85.12 %.

At present Units 2, 3 and 4 of Balakovo NPP are under operation. Unit 1 is under the scheduled maintenance.

Balakovo NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern. The plant is situated on the left bank of Saratov reservoir, 10 km north-east of Balakovo of the Saratov region. The plant has four power units with upgraded reactors VVER-1000 (modification of B-320) with the installed electric capacity 1,000 MW each. The first unit was commissioned in 1985, second Р in 1987, third Р in 1988 and fourth Р in 1994. Balakovo NPP refers to a number of the largest and modern enterprises of the power engineering of Russia providing a quarter of the production of electricity to Volga Federal District. Its electricity reliably provides the consumers of the Volga region, Centre, Ural and Siberia.
