Balakovo NPP Holds Contest of Scientific and Technological Reports Among Young Employees
On May 24, 2012 at the Training Centre of Balakovo NPP, there was held the III competition of scientific and technological works among young professionals and employees of the enterprise.
It was attended by representatives of nine plant subdivisions: Reactor Shop 1, Reactor Shop 2, Thermal Instrumentation and Control Shop, Radiation Safety Department, Electric Shop, Nuclear Safety and Reliability Department, Public Relations Centre, Engineering Operation and Maintenance Department, and Reequipment and Life Extension Department.
One of the main objectives of the similar contests is professional development of young workers of the nuclear power plant, disclosure of their scientific and technological potential for the solution of production tasks on operation, maintenance and reequipment of units.
The participants were welcomed by Acting Deputy Director for Staff Management, Sergey Funtov. He noted that each year the contest becomes more popular, and to become its participant, there strive more young employees of the plant. ТItХs very important because the initiative of young employees both at Rosenergoatom Concern and Balakovo NPP is warmly welcomed. Together with the number of participants, there increases a number of the submitted for the contest works Р the experienced contestants strive to improve their results comparing to the previous year, and newcomers Р to make them compete,У stressed Sergey Funtov.
The contest committee included Chief of the Staff Development Department, Roman Mikhailov, and Engineer of the Thermal Instrumentation and Control Shop, President of the Youth Organization of Balakovo NPP, Denis Yermolayev. Head of the committee РDeputy Head of the Training Centre, Sergey Berdyugin.
Of 12 submitted for the contest reports, the best was recognized the report of Chief Engineer for Reactor Control of Reactor Shop 1, Dmitry Markelov ТIntroduction of the System of Autonomous Cooldown of VVER Pile Assemblies on the Example of RU B-320У.
The second prize went to Engineer for Operation of Thermal and Mechanical Equipment of Reactor Shop 2, Alexander Safronov with the report ТAnalysis of Reequipment and Reconstruction in the Modern Nuclear Power IndustryУ.
The third place was awarded to the work of authors including Chief Engineers of the Reequipment and Life Extension Department, Alexey Schekotov and Yevgeniy Khristolyubov ТMethods of Management of Organization of Works on Life ExtensionУ.
With the special prize ТFor the Best Design and PresentationУ, the contest committee decided to distinguish Electrician of the Electric Shop, Alexander Starov for the report ТModernization of Generator Circuit-Breakers in the Circuit of Auxiliaries of UnitУ.
All the participants of the contest will receive certificates, and its winners Р cash bonuses. Presentation of certificates to be held in a solemn ceremony during the meeting of managers of Balakovo NPP in June with young professionals of the nuclear power plant.У
