A project meeting comprising the representatives of the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM), the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority in Finland (STUK), and the Norwegian Institute for Energy Technology, Halden (IFE) took place at the Kola NPP (an affiliate of the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company, a part of the Electric Power Division of the Rosatom State Corporation).

The floating nuclear heat and power plant (FNHPP, a project by the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company, a part of the Rosatom State Corporation) has delivered its first 10 mln kWh of electric power into the isolated network of the Chauny-Bilibino hub (the Chukotka Autonomous Region) since its connection to the grid on December 19, 2019.

Rosenergoatom: the share of nuclear energy in the power balance of Russia has reached 19%
The share of nuclear power plants in the power balance of Russia had increased up to 19.04% in 2019 (compared to 18.7% in 2018). The share of nuclear power plants in the Unified Energy System of Russia, excluding the output of the Bilibino NPP, which operates in an isolated environment, has reached the value of 19.3% (against 19.1% in 2018).

As of December 27, the Rostov nuclear power plant has produced 33.508 billion kWh, which accounts for over 16% of nuclear generation in Russia and the highest output among all NPPs of the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company.

On December 25, 2019, the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor) issued a license to the Bilibino NPP for the extension of the 2nd power block’s operation until December 31, 2025. That said, it will remain in service for another six years supplying electricity to the region.
