The commission of the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor) has issued a license to operate the 6th VVER-1200 power unit of the Leningrad NPP.

Rostekhnadzor has approved pilot production of the Novovoronezh NPP 6th power unit in an 18-months’ fuel cycle
Rostekhnadzor (the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision) has issued a license to the Novovoronezh NPP for the pilot production of the Novovoronezh NPP 6th power unit with a VVER-1200 reactor in the extended fuel cycle mode of 18 months.

The installation of the Russian tallest cooling tower pedestal columns has begun at the Kursk NPP-2
The construction team has erected the first four columns of the 1st power block’s cooling tower base. All in all, 100 reinforced concrete columns will be installed circumferentially around the tower’s base. They will bear the load from the stack’s concrete covering.

The installation of the 2nd power unit’s turbine set substructure skeleton pillars has been completed at the Kursk NPP-2
The construction team has delivered another key milestone at the Kursk NPP-2 by completing the installation of twenty turbine set skeleton pillars from -7.000 to 0.000 mark at the 2nd power unit’s turbine hall. It took 5 months for the team of AO ‘Titan-2 Company’ to complete the job.

HEAT FROM A FLOATING NUCLEAR POWER PLANT WAS FIRST DELIVERED TO THE CITY HEATING NETWORK IN PEVEK
June 30, 2020 – Today the first heat from the floating nuclear power plant (FNPP, the plant of JSC Rosenergoatom, Rosatom state atomic energy corporation’s division) was supplied to the 5th microdistrict of Pevek (Chukotka).

FOUR NEW NPP UNITS WILL BE BUILT IN RUSSIA
Preparations are now underway in Russia to build new power units in the Leningrad and Smolensk Regions. The corresponding decision was signed by Alexey Likhachev, Rosatom State Atomic Corporation Director General.

On June 25, 2020, the VVER-1200 2nd power unit of the Leningrad NPP held a ceremony of completing the services on the check-out of the critical equipment – the high-capacity diesel generating sets. The works were delivered by a combined team of the Leningrad NPP specialists and the companies that have manufactured this equipment - MAN Energy Solutions France SAS and Moteurs Leroy Somer (France).
