The final stage of the physical launch for the newest VVER-1200 6th power block has been launched at the Leningrad NPP (a part of the electric power division of Rosatom). This is the first time the nuclear facility has reached the minimum controllable power.

As a part of the operational Partnership verification at the Beloyarsk NPP, the team of WANO experts have observed the way the staff works at the main control room using a full-scale BN-800 simulator. This fairly new type of verification is called CPO – Crew Performance Observations.

The anniversary of the nuclear industry is celebrated in Russia. Within 75 days, ROSATOM will hold more than 100 events across the nation dedicated to the country’s nuclear industry. The slogan of the celebration is “75 years: ahead of the times”.

The Leningrad NPP: the new VVER-1200 power unit has successfully undergone the international partnership pre-launch verification held by the WANO
The experts of the Moscow Office of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO MO) has completed the partnership pre-launch verification of the Leningrad NPP VVER-1200 6th power unit. The international mission was held to evaluate if the constructed unit is ready for safe launch and ongoing operation.

The assembly of the inner containment’s third floor has been completed at the Kursk NPP-2 1st power unit
The team has installed the final, eleventh, reinforcement block for the reactor containment’s third floor at the Kursk NPP-2 1st power unit under construction. Thus, the construction team has completed the assembly of the containment’s cylindrical piece. This will be followed by three floors of the crestal area.

Rosenergoatom has resumed the HR labs on the implementation of Industry 4.0.* technologies
HR Tech Lab 2.0., the first lab to take place in 2020, was dedicated to HR robot process automation as a part of the staff digital transformation. The lab was attended by representatives of the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company’s HQ, the NPPs’ and the affiliate companies’ HR departments.

Rosenergoatom is setting up the RBMK units final shutdown engineering center in St Petersburg
Under the auspices of the Leningrad NPP (city of Sosnovy Bor, the Leningrad region), a new pilot and demonstration engineering center in charge of NPP channel-type reactor facility power units (RBMK) final shutdown has been established.

ROSATOM: FUEL LOADING STARTS AT POWER UNIT 2 OF LENINGRAD NPP-2
Sosnovy Bor, July 19, 2020. The first of 163 nuclear fuel assemblies has been loaded into the VVER-1200 reactor of power unit 2 of Leningrad NPP-2. Fuel loading marks the beginning of the physical start-up of an NPP. The plant is operated by Rosatom’s Electric Power Division Rosenergoatom.
