At the Kursk NPP WANO support mission took place

Experts from the Moscow Center of the World Association of Nuclear Power Plant Operators (WANO) organized a support mission at the Kursk NPP on the topic “Improving the efficiency of the operating experience utilization system”.

Representatives of the Novovoronezh and Kola NPPs shared their practices and "points of growth" in this area with Kursk nuclear scientists.

“We consider the experience of operating nuclear power plants as a source of valuable information. It is needed to make decisions aimed at ensuring the safe, reliable and economical operation of nuclear power plants,” said Dmitry Zerkal, representative of WANO-MC at the Kursk NPP.

According to him, each station differs in its own traditions and peculiarities of work, respectively, each of them accumulates a unique operational experience, which is spread through support missions to other sites.

“During the mission, we obtained new information that will be used in the future, including in the field of safe and reliable operation of the plant,” said Vladimir Rukhlyadev, head of the department for using operating experience and investigating violations of the Kursk NPP.

Based on the results of the mission, recommendations and proposals were developed. After agreement, they will be included in the final report for further implementation in practice.
