Delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the Novovoronezh NPP

At the Novovoronezh NPP, the specialists of the department were told in detail how the interaction of forces and means of rapid response in the event of an emergency occurs at the site of the power unit.

The delegation visited the Novovoronezh branch of the Emergency Technical Center of Rosatom ("ETC Rosatom"), the laboratory of outer radiation control (LORC), examined the mobile emergency equipment located at the site of the Novovoronezh NPP-2 and the fire station No. 14 created to protect the nuclear power plant. At the round table, the guests discussed the existing emergency response systems in the framework of bilateral cooperation.

“We asked a lot of questions and received full replies to all of them. I think the station is well protected. All the equipment is modern, we hope that the same equipment will be delivered to us within the framework of the project,” said Alexandra Khadirnazarova, head of the department of the State Unitary Enterprise Directorate for NPP Construction under the Uzatom agency.

The state corporation "Rosatom" plans to build a complex of two power units of generation "3+" with PWR-1200 reactors in Uzbekistan. A site near Lake Tuzkan in the Jizzakh region was selected as the priority site for the construction of the station. The construction is scheduled to begin after the signing of the contract. Engineering and survey work is currently underway at the site.
