Rosenergoatom JSC (part of the Electricity Division of Rosatom JSC) increased the volume of energy production as well as its revenue in 2020. The total revenue the generating company acquired from the sale of electricity and the capacity of Russian NPPs (branches of the JSC) exceeded 462.4 billion rubles over the past year, which is 1.3% higher than in 2019 (over 456.7 billion rubles).

Consolidated revenue of the Electricity Division at the end of the last year amounted to over 592.7 billion rubles (against 546.9 billion in 2019).

It should also be reminded that by the end of 2020, the aggregate power generation of nuclear power plants reached a record 215.746 billion kWh, which is 7 billion kWh more than in the previous year.

“The growth in electricity production at nuclear power plants and revenue relative to the planned indicators in 2020 is primarily associated with the optimization of the total duration of repair by 130 days, which enabled the company to reach an additional 2.4 billion kWh, as well as with the transition of power unit No. 6 of the Novovoronezh NPP from 12 months to 18 months fuel (overhaul) cycle. In addition, in May 2020, a floating nuclear power plant (FNPP) was put into operation in Chukotka, and in October a new power unit No. 6 of the Leningrad NPP with a VVER-1200 reactor was connected to the country's unified power grid. In the current year 2021, it is scheduled to be put into commercial operation,” - Deputy Director General, Director for Economics and Finance at Rosenergoatom Sergey Migalin noted.

Today Rosenergoatom is the largest generating company in Russia and the second largest in the world in terms of nuclear generating capacity, which is successfully developing and integrating, among other things, into the process of large-scale digital transformation. The company's share of nuclear power generation at present exceeds 20% of the total electricity generation in the country. Thus, every fifth light bulb and every fifth computer in the Russian Federation is powered by electricity generated by nuclear power plants.
