The Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company has become a winner in 2 major nominations of the prestigious National ‘DC. RF’ award

The grand award ceremony for the National ‘DC. RF’ award of 2019 has recently taken place in Moscow. 64 nominees took part in the competition, 34 of which were shortlisted for the final selection stage.

The Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company (a part of the Electric power division of the Rosatom State Corporation) became a winner in the following nominations:

  • ‘Project of the year’ – for the project on establishing the infrastructure sites to house modular Data Centers; 
  • ‘Data Center of the year’ – for the ‘Kalininskiy DC’.

Additionally, the Rosenergoatom’s marketing department became a winner in a special nomination ‘Best marketing team in the DC market’, for their accomplishments in the promotion and publicity of the Russian DC market.

Sergey Migalin, Deputy CEO and the Director of Economy and Finance at the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company, noted: ‘This acknowledgement by the participants and the market experts verify that the company is operating in an efficient way and that our team is highly professional’.

It is important to note that Rosenergoatom has been working on this area of business since 2015. The ‘Kalininskiy DC’, which was commissioned in 2018, became the first data center in the project. Nowadays, it has become the Company’s stronghold and is utilized to house both internal IT systems and a number of the Rosatom State Corporation’s solutions.

In the nearest future, Rosenergoatom is planning to extend its global network of data centers and to build several DCs: in the Innopolice special economic zone near Kazan, in Saint Petersburg and in Moscow. According to Mr. Migalin, the investments into the infrastructure project are estimated as 12-14 billion rubles.

The National ‘DC. RF’ award is a competition among professionals and specialists working in the Russian DC industry, designed to select the leaders by fair and transparent voting casted by the data center market participants. The competition is to determine the most successful representatives of the industry and their project, increase brand awareness and set up the best communication platform for everyone involved in the DC market.
