By the end of 2019, the Rostov NPP will have delivered around 34 billion kWh of electric power

As of December 27, the Rostov nuclear power plant has produced 33.508 billion kWh, which accounts for over 16% of nuclear generation in Russia and the highest output among all NPPs of the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company.

The Rostov NPP has attained the annual electric power generation quota set at the mark of 31.640 billion kWh by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia one month ahead of time, as early as on December 2. On December 14, the nuclear power plant reached its annual goal of 32.560 billion kWh set by the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company.

‘I’m happy to say that we have successfully attained all our production goals this year. We have fully completed out safety-related program for 2019. We had no accidents, fire outbreaks or deviations in the power block service. All our achievements were made possible by close collaboration and the professionalism of the NPP’s team. We still have a lot of challenges in front of us, and I’m sure we can handle them’, Andrey Salnikov, the director of the Rostov NPP, stressed when summing up the outcomes of the year.

Successful production operation, safe and effective operation of four NPP power blocks don’t just cater for reliable power supply to the South of Russia where each third light bulb is powered by the Rostov NPP. It also established the ground for a large number of social initiatives in the region.

It was the first time when the Rostov region hosted the Interregional ‘Memory Duty’ for the company’s scouting force association. Volgodonsk also hosted the 1st International Forum ‘The constellation of Rosenergoatom cities’ with delegations from all Russian NPP cities and twin cities in Hungary, Belarus and Abkhazia took part.

The Rostov NPP became the winner at the regional stage of the Federal ‘Russian organization of high social effectiveness’, the nomination being ‘For taking part in addressing regional social challenges and developing charities’. The Rostov NPP was also announced to be the top performer in the social initiative competition held by the Russian Department of Energy within the ‘Supporting industry-related non-commercial and public organizations’ nomination.
