Young atomists of the Coordination Council had a meeting at Rostov NPP

On March 30-31, 2011, a Coordination Council meeting with participation of authorized representatives of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC youth organizations was held in Rostov NPP Public Information Centre. About 20 representatives of NPP youth organizations took part in the meeting.

Having greeted participants, Rostov NPP Deputy HR Director Gennady Fomenko noted that communicating with the youth resulted in mutual education of each other. He added that such meetings and conferences were necessary in order to discuss important issues and to offer advice to each other.

In his turn, NPP Trade Union Committee Chairman Alexander Soroka reported that Rostov NPP Trade Union Committee directly participated in young atomists’ life. He added that they constantly found common language and tried to help the young specialists to face less pressing problems. It concerns not only sport and cultural life, but also salaries and housing provision issues.

RNPP management representatives also answered the “round-table” participants’ questions, told about career prospects at Rostov NPP, about traditional team cycle races and many other things.

Therewith, within the framework of the meeting the elections of Coordination Council board members took place. Evgeniya Churkina (President of the Young Atomists International Association, MAMA) unanimously was elected as the chairman. The young atomists also discussed fulfillment of the decisions made at the last meeting, which had been held last year in November in Udomlya city. They shared their ideas and suggestions concerning establishment of Rosatom production system support youth club and discussed preparation for corporate youth events in 2011 and military and patriotic activities plan among Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC young employees.

During the second day, March 31, the participants got acquainted with MAMA activity report in 2010, discussed the organizational issues of Dysnai 2011 International Creative Festival of Young Atomists and took part in the “round-table" on the topic of information exchange between youth public associations.

Then, the Coordination Council members went on an excursion to Rostov NPP, in the course of which they visited the construction site of power units No. 3 and 4.

The next meeting of the Coordination Council with participation of authorized representatives of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC youth organizations will be held in November, at Smolensk NPP.

Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The nuclear power plant is located on the bank of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir 13.5 km far from Volgodonsk city. The plant operates two power units with VVER-1000 reactors with installed capacity of 1,000 MW. Power unit No.1 was put into commercial operation in 2001, power unit No. 2 – in December of 2010.
