To the Leningrad NPP-2 5th and 6th of seven transformers for the first and second power units delivered

On 18 November unloading of two phase block raising transformers, weighing 297 tons each, delivered by dry-cargo vessel "Salavat" from Moscow, was made at the pier "Ustyinsky" (Sosnovy Bor).

Works were produced by a powerful heavy crawler crane «Liebherr», lifting capacity of which is  750 tons, collected at the pier specifically for loading and unloading of delivered bulky and heavy equipment.

Transportation of the transformers by special transport to the site of the Leningrad NPP-2 is being done at the moment.

Maritime shipping method through the Gulf has not been selected randomly. This decision has greatly accelerated the process of getting this overarching cargo. Moreover, in comparison with the rail Delivery Water it was more profitable.

Recall, that it was produced seven transformers, including one standby, for the first and second power units of the Leningrad NPP-2. The first two transformers were delivered to Sosnovy Bor by rail. The next two arrived on the ship "Ufimets" to the pier "Ustyinsky" on November 16th. The remaining transformer will arrive by rail in December.

Transformers had been designed and manufactured by the order of the «Rosenergoatom Concern" by the production complex JSC «Elektrozavod" (Moscow), they refer to the power equipment of the new generation of super-power transformers with high voltage class. This equipment with improved design and technical performance is reliable, easy to install and use. The installed capacity of the three phases of the up-block transformer is 1599 MVA. They provide conversion and issuance of the design capacity of 1200 MW of power to the grid.

Construction of the Leningrad NPP-2 is a part of a long-term program of activities of the State Corporation "Rosatom". Customer-developer of the project is the JSC "Rosenergoatom".
The general contractor for the project is JSC "AEP".
General subcontractor is JSC "Concern Titan-2".
General designer is JSC "ATOMPROEKT."
On February 12, 2010 the Technical Supervisory Authority issued a license (? GN 02-101-2277) for the construction of the Leningrad NPP-2 power unit ?1 installation (valid - till 31.03.2018) and the license (? GN 02-101-2276) on construction of the Leningrad NPP-2 power unit ?2 (valid - till 07.14.2019).
