TheLeningrad NP: increase in electricity production for 10 months in 2014 amounted to 36.7%

The Leningrad NPP (branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom", Leningrad region) in January-October 2014 has developed 20,076 billion kW hours of electricity, that has amounted to 103.5% of the planned target for this period and 136.7% of the corresponding figure for the same period in 2013 year (14 billion 682 million kW • h).

Into the grid the Leningrad NPP has released 18 billion 455 million kilowatt hours of electricity in January-October 2014 or 104.46% of the planned target (for the same period in 2013 - 13 billion 409 million kW • h).

Since the start of operation as of November 1, 2014 the Leningrad NPP has generated 910 billion 506 million kilowatt hours of electricity.

Recall, that the planned target of the Leningrad NPP electricity production for 2014 is 23 billion 408.78 million kilowatt hours of electricity, increasing by 37.7% for the corresponding plan of 2013.

"In the first ten months of the year the Leningrad NPP maintains stable positive dynamics of power generation, recruited after implementation of the program to restore the resource characteristics of the first power unit and work in the autumn-winter period 2013-2014 year, all four units work with a capacity factor indicator (capacity factor) to 92 -96%. In the near future, the team expects the plant to re-enter on a high beginning of the year and, thus, successfully complete the annual plan target for electricity generation, "- said the director of the Leningrad NPP Vladimir Pereguda.

Currently at the Leningrad NPP operates 1,3 and 4 power units that carry the load according to operations schedule 2870 MW. On the second block is terminated by a program to restore the resource characteristics of the reactor facility.

The radiation background on an industrial platform of the Leningrad nuclear power plant, in the city Pine Pine Forest and the surrounding territory hasn't changed and corresponds to natural values.

The Leningrad nuclear power plant is JSC "Rosenergoatom Concern" branch. The station is located in the city Pine Pine forest, in 80 km to the west of St. Petersburg on the bank of the Finland Gulf. The Leningrad NPP is the country's first station with RBMK-1000 reactors (uranium - graphite nuclear reactors of channel type on thermal neutrons). 4 power units by electric capacity of 1000 MWt everyone are operating on the nuclear power plant.
