The Rostov NPP: Volgodonsk 50 health workers took part in a training webinar on nuclear energy

On 25 and 26 November a training workshop for health workers from Volgodonsk, organized by the «Rosenergoatom Concern" with the participation of the Research Institute of Ecology, the environmental non-governmental fund named after V.I. Vernadsky and the Environment Department of the Russian People's Friendship University, was at the Information Centre of Rostov NPP.
 
The seminar, which was held via videoconference, was attended by 50 health professionals from Volgodonsk hospitals. The Advisor to Director General of the State Corporation "Rosatom", Coordinator of the Environmental Policy of «Rosatom» Vladimir Grachev and the Deputy Director of the Information and Public Relations Department, the Head of Communications with the public authorities and the public of the "Rosenergoatom" Svetlana Churilova greeted them.

In her speech, Svetlana noted, that in recent years the urban population locations of nuclear power plants have become more confidently related to nuclear power. "According to a survey conducted by the STC "Perspective", 86% of the satellite cities of nuclear power plants are in favor of the nuclear energy development. One of the main factors, influencing these figures, is the openness of the "Rosenergoatom", the availability and reliability of the information, reliability and safety of nuclear power plants. "

During the seminar, Volgodonsk doctors heard a report on the safe operation of nuclear power stations, listened to lectures about ionizing radiation and its effects on the human body and medical applications. They were especially interested in the lecture "Endoecological medicine - new approaches to treatment and rehabilitation. Clinical and economic benefits" of PhD, Associate Professor, the Head of the Department "Human Ecology" of Environmental Faculty RUPF Olga Rodionova

Upon completion of the training program, doctors talked with the leaders of the Rostov NPP. Each participant received a webinar certificates from non-governmental environmental fund named after V.I. Vernadsky and environmental faculty of Russian People's Friendship University.

The general opinion of Volgodonsk physicians about the event was expressed by the head of the city Department of Health Galina Antropov: "We express our gratitude to the organizers and webinar lecturers. The acquired knowledge is very useful for us, but more importantly we have seen once again that the nuclear power plant is a safe and secure facility. "
